T20 World Cup 2022: Ultimate Match Guide – South Africa vs Pakistan

Nov. 3, 2022

The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is one of the two venues in Australia that will suit Pakistan more than South Africa, despite the fact that South Africa is the better cricket team in country across all three formats. So expect things to even out a little. What works in SCG
  • Medium Pace
  • Finger spin
  • Full, good, and pace variation power hitters
What doesn't work in SCG
  • Express Pace
  • Batters who are vulnerable in attacking quality spin bowling

Key fantasy factors - SA vs PAK

  • Short square boundaries
  • Long straight boundaries
  • RHB heavy PAK - Maharaj potential up
  • LHB heavy SA - Iftikhar potential up, Nawaz potential down
  • Babar Azam in conditions that suit him
  • Fakhar Zaman being ruled out - Shan Masood potential up
  • Asif Ali likely to replace Fakhar Zaman
  • Nawaz could be floated up the order to counter Maharaj
  • Lungi Ngidi might hold on to his spot
Keshav Maharaj and Iftikhar Ahmed are two players who, from a fantasy perspective, have the potential to be game-changers for your team on this particular day. Maharaj because he will be bowling on one of Australia's best decks for finger spin bowling, and with the exception of Shan Masood and a possible promotion for Mohammad Nawaz, he will be facing a team that is susceptible to slow left-arm orthodox spin. Iftikhar, who will bat at No. 4, has been looking in decent form as of late and will be expected to roll his arm over against a South African batting unit that is heavy on LHB. Bear in mind, however, that these differences are not nearly as significant as the majority of those that we have predicted thus far in our columns and shows. These are just low-value differentials. But at this late stage of the tournament, when all of the cards have been played and everyone is aware of everything, these are the kinds of plays that have the potential to make a difference in daily fantasy. The percentage of managers who own Maharaj or Iftikhar is only 6% and 14%, respectively. You wouldn't expect a player of Babar Azam's calibre to go this long without a notable score, and given that the deck isn't helping the South African pace attack, you can expect the Pakistan captain to return a score of 30 or higher today. Do not overlook the fact that he was in relatively decent form prior to the competition. Because of their recent form and the possibility of gaining wicketkeeping points, Mohammad Rizwan and Quinton de Kock are obvious choices for selection. Haris Rauf is without a doubt the best bowling option for the game because, in addition to being an express quick, he also possesses effective yorkers and pace variations that will be helpful on this deck.
